Looking at this further, I noticed that there is indeed a notification message for VPN established in Natty. Turns out it was enabled upstream a little after Maverick release.
Note that VPN established notifications should have appeared before as well, in cases where there is a banner on connection (possible at least for vpnc and OpenVPN). For the record, this was the upstream commit: http://git.gnome.org/browse/network-manager- applet/commit/?h=NMA_0_8&id=5d9868fa11bb1793f580ce8a6b42c702cc993295 ** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/712621 Title: Missing notification message when a VPN gets connected -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
