Re-hi,
Installation from a USB-media worked really well. I burned
"natty-alternate-amd64.iso" to an old 2GB sd-card (taken form a camera) and
installed from it. And everything worked just fine. The default desktop is also
working well. But yesterday, I had no success with the "Additional Drivers" for
Nvidia, so I do not dare to touch it anymore.

The konclusion is this:
* The CD/DVD hardware in this desktop-PC is probably failing.
* All the alternative CD/DVDs (both 32 and 64 bits) all stops at the same place
(73%). Hmm why?
* Installation from a LiveCD (such as Natty 11.04 Alpha2) works fine from a
CD/DVDrom.
* Installation from a USB-media works also right. But notice: For som reason
usb-creator-gtk failed to burn it right. Unetbootin did a good job.

I can now move on with my projects; (addvert)https://launchpad.net
/audio-recorder, etc.

Thanks for your help so far.
Have a good day.
