It doesn't occur in 1.4 (which is packaged in Ubuntu Maverick). The nightlies is a different matter, and is our PPA, not Ubuntu. I verified the code in stable-1-4 yesterday, and this issue doesn't affect the code there (it is a bit different). The code on stable-1-4 appends a slash for comparing.
