I am pretty sure i had the same problem. I tried to connect from a
VMWare Ubuntu to a Windows 7 system (main host system) on the same
computer, where i created a new shared folder. Using the "connect to
Server" dialogue in the Places menu didnt work an replied the error
message. Clicking on the share in nautilus resulted in a "was not able
to mount Windows share" or something. Having messed with those connect
tries a little, i did a system restart, and the mounting was working
again as i guess it is supposed to be and as it did before. Maybe some
of my wrong input made the file-share crash or something, dont know.
