Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.20-12-generic
After upgrading to that kernel image I have found that I can not boot.
Booting hangs with SATA loading problems and as a result my root
partition can not then be loaded.
Worked fine with linux-image-2.6.20-10/11-generic
This is with a Feisty64 install.
Uli SATA chipset on an ASrock 939Dual motherboard
I can not find any log entries pertaining to the boot failure in
/var/log
Let me know if there is any other info I can provide.
