Public bug reported:
I had an older HP Pavilion that I just replaced because it would crash
about once every 3-5 suspends or hibernates. I replaced it with a box
built for Ubuntu by ZaReason. I did a couple hibernates and a couple
suspends on my new system and it froze on suspend, just like the old
box. This is an appreciable problem for me given how I use the machine.
The system started taking an unusually long time to hibernate on the
second hibernate. Then on the 2nd or so suspend, the screen went blank,
the system did not shut down for an extended time, and, when I tried, I
could not switch terminals (e.g. to more gracefully shut down) and could
not get anything to appear on the screen. After several additional
minutes, I hard shut down the computer.
Looking at the kernel log, it seems that the computer tried to suspend
and then, within the same second, somehow decided to try to wake up,
encountering errors along the way. The time code for when this happened
is Feb 19 20:30:49. Will try to add any useful log info as I find it,
if it isn't in the report.
