Binary package hint: banshee
I believe this has something to do with Pulse Sound Server. Sound has
been effected system wide. Also getting error with Audacity. Seems they
can't connect to sound server on the system. With Banshee I am getting:

this is startup and shutdown output. Banshee is pretty usless without
sound working. Notices that volume is grayed out within Banshee window.
Seems to suggest it can't connect with underlying sound system.
With Audacity I get:

Again this is startup and shutdown. When I test speakers from sound
preferences they run fine. Sound is working on the system just isn't
letting any programs use it. Can't get sound in any other program I have
tried. Firefox, Chrome, Totem, etc. Leads my to believe it is something
wrong with underlying sound system.
