This problem is due to poppler being compiled without libopenjpeg
support under Ubuntu. For changing this, openjpeg has to be included in
main (see bug 711061). I’m marking this bug as a duplicate of bug 710412
(Document Viewer Does Not Display Graphics in PDF Files), another issue
due to the missing openjpeg support.
