Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

Trying to upgrade from lucid to maverick.

1st attempt, using the graphical update manager: i click on "upgrade to
10.10 now" button. Somewhere during the process, it completly freeze.
Note that i never noticed any "freeze" during normal usage of laptop. I
have no choice but to do a hard shutdown using power button.

2nd attempt: can not go very far, system is broken. So i follow on screen
instructions and report bug:
Impossible d'évaluer la mise à niveau

An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade:
E:Erreur, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve a généré des ruptures, ce qui a pu être
causé par les paquets devant être gardés en l'état.

 This can be caused by:
 * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

Si rien de ceci ne convient, veuillez signaler ce bogue concernant le
paquet « update-manager » en y joignant les fichiers du dossier /var/log
