FYI - the system reboots fine, it's just the powerdown that's not
working. I haven't yet tested the suspend/hibernate options.

Also, I don't know if this is relevant, but I have the "too many
connections" message when the system boots. There's a thread about this
on the forums (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1635278) as well
as a bug tracker
