Unfortunately I removed that copy of Ubuntu, so I will not be able to provide the /var/log/dist-upgrade info as requested. Let's go ahead and call this bug closed. If I reinstall Ubuntu onto the hardware (as opposed to running it in a Virtual Box), and run into a similar problem, I'll post it where needed. I appreciate the help on this one. I simply decided that the particular combination of Xubuntu and UbuntuStudio was probably not the greatest idea.
