Hi,
I have noted couple of more bugs that one of them I found a solution and
got it fixed, but the other one I have not yet resolved.
While trying to share a folder, I was initially prompted to install a
package (didn’t note what package), upon package installation I was
prompted to restart the "session", which I did.
The when I went to share the folder received the following error
message:
net usershare' returned error 255: net usershare add: cannot share path
/var/www as we are restricted to only sharing directories we own. Ask
the administrator to add the line "usershare owner only = false" to the
[global] section of the smb.conf to allow this.
Here is what I did:
1. Opened a terminal, typed the following: gksu gedit /etc/samba/smb.conf
2. Then in the next windows in the [global] section added the following:
usershare owner only = false
3. Then in the terminal typed the following: sudo /etc/init.d/samba restart
That resolved this problem.
Now another problem I have noticed is that I have lost Internet
connection, I am unable to browse the Internet using that machine now!
This problem has occurred exactly after the package install for sharing
the folder. Any thoughts or fixes on that?
Regards,
Homayoun
