Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: empathy
Summary
************
This one makes little sense to me and I have no idea how to debug. The problem
is that no matter what I do, send a message on AIM, or resize the list of
chatters in an IRC room; Empathy noisily writes to the hard disk while I am
doing this action, but only while I do it. It just seems to be a needless
amount of wear and tear on the hard disk
How to reproduce
***********************
Join a chat room on IRC. Resize the side pane that shows the list of folks in
the room, the disk noisily writes constantly while you move the pane. It ceases
immediately when you stop resizing the pane. You can also send a message to
someone on AIM (not sure about other clients). Every message you send you can
hear the disk clicking for a second, to the point it even gets distracting
after a while.
