QuickTime player is not available or Ubuntu, but there are many other media
players available and installable from the Ubuntu Software Center, which can
handle the same formats as Quicktime. The default media player installed, Totem
can also open many video formats, though it might ask you to install some
plugins, but it just requires a few confirmation clicks.
In Ubuntu Software Center you can also find VLC, Gnome MPlayer and many other
media players which should be capable of playing your media.
If you really would like to stick to QuickTime player, that should also be
possible by installing it with Wine, see detailed instructions on
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wine on how to work with Wine.

** Changed in: file-roller (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Invalid
