Thanks Alf, thanks Ingo, thanks *, but this is not a solution for me! Plymouth REALLY BREAKS MY SERVERS. I need full hd encryption and ssh in initrd - both is not possible with this ugly and broken package. I cannot purge that shit w/o strange workarounds. And - as far as I see - the problem is just the maintainer's ego. I'm very angry and my solution will be: Drop the ubuntu shit on my servers and set up a small, fancy and stable Debian.
I'm sure, with this attitudes you will lost a bunch of people on the server side. Why, please tell me WHY, you cannot remove the hard dep. from the package?
