** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: openoffice.org

- By default, when OOo Calc creates a new spreadsheet, all sheet shortcuts
- are visible in their space in the bottom left. However, when opening an
- .xls file, that area will either become just wide enough to display one
- sheet only, or almost disappear.
+ 1) lsb_release -rd
+ Description: Ubuntu 10.10
+ Release: 10.10

- How to reproduce:
- 1. Open OOo Calc, create new spreadsheet. Observe the sheet shortcuts in the
lower left corner.
- 2. Type anything in A1, save file as Excel spreadsheet. Close Calc, open
saved file again.
- 3. Try attached spreadsheets as well.
+ 2) apt-cache policy libreoffice-calc
+ libreoffice-calc:
+ Installed: 1:3.3.1-1ubuntu3~maverick1
+ Candidate: 1:3.3.1-1ubuntu3~maverick1
+ Version table:
+ *** 1:3.3.1-1ubuntu3~maverick1 0
+ 500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/libreoffice/ppa/ubuntu/ maverick/main
i386
+ Packages
+ 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

- Expected results:
- The sheet shortcut area is as wide in (2) and (3) as it is in (1), and all
the sheets are visible.
+ apt-cache policy gnumeric
+ gnumeric:
+ Installed: 1.10.8-1ubuntu1
+ Candidate: 1.10.8-1ubuntu1
+ Version table:
+ *** 1.10.8-1ubuntu1 0
+ 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/universe i386
Packages
+ 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

- Actual results:
- The shortcut area is either only wide enough for one sheet, or has almost
zero width altogether.
+ 3) What is expected to happen at the Terminal:
+
+ cd ~/Desktop && wget
+
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/575143/+attachment/1373092/+files
+ /empty-sheet.xls && localc -nologo empty-sheet.xls
+
+ Notice how one can see Sheet 1 and part of the rest of the Sheets bar.
+ Resize the window so it is as small as possible horizontally. Then re-
+ size the window to almost full screen. The Sheets bar should display
+ Sheet 1 and part of the rest of the Sheets bar as before.
+
+ 4) What happened instead is Sheet 1 and the rest of the bar disappeared,
+ requiring one to slide the Sheets bar over. This problem does not occur
+ in Gnumeric.
