Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: emacs23
Almost each time I start GNU Emacs, I can see its window popping up on the
screen then it disappears instantly. Initially, I thought Emacs core dumped,
but in fact, it was automatically (wrongly) moved to another (random)
workspace! I then have to look at my four workspaces to retrieve the Emacs
window and put it back on the first workspace.
The bug only happens while Compiz is turned on; it did not happen when Compiz
was off.
I tried to google about this, but nothing; people seems to run with Compiz
disabled all the times or I am alone with this bug!
I am using Ubuntu 10.10 64 bits version, with the NVIDIA closed-source graphic
driver.
