Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

I was trying to upgrade to the latest version of Ubuntu and was messing
with my update settings to try to get the Update Manager to check for
new version/releases rather than just hotfixes/patches etc. I was
successful at that, but when I tried to upgrade the version to 10.10, I
received a message that stated "Could not calculate upgrade". I
followed the suggested steps to this bug report.

I've been using Ubuntu off an on for about 2 years.
