(New to Ubuntu and Linux in general)
Feisty install here... I'm experiencing what I think is a similar problem.
After upgrading to 2.6.20-14-generic pkgs 2.6.20-14.23 from a previous
2.6.20-14 package (I don't know what the previous version was, if someone can
let me know how to get it, I can) the system became unbootable (nothing
interesting booting the normal kernel, some debug messages but nothing that
stuck out to me in the "safe mode" kernel).
Switching grub to boot from the previous initrd fixed things. cksums on each
initrd:
1996184709 6946350 initrd.img-2.6.20-14-generic
1473675325 6946125 initrd.img-2.6.20-14-generic.bak
.bak is working, the other is not.
My root volume is /dev/sda3. If there's any additional info I could provide,
please let me know. Also, if this isn't related to the above, let me know and
I'll file a separate bug.
Thanks!
