I didn't specify --with-aticonfig when I built it.  Looking through the
configure script, it appears that it turns on --with-aticonfig by
default if the aticonfig executable is available on the host, as it is
on mine.

Which is my point.  It seems that it would be easy to add it, and so
support ATI GPU sensors even before the kernel interface becomes
available.  However, if you don't want to do that and if it's going to
be fixed in natty anyway, then I guess it's no big deal.  I will check
whether it works in natty and report back on that.
