Thanks for reporting this issue.
Yes, this behaviour is normal, but has nothing to do with virt-manager.
The guest OS is seeing a new network card with a different MAC address,
so manual configuration inside the guest is needed for it to work.
I am closing this bug as there is nothing we can do in virt-manager to
resolve this issue.
