I have merged the packages. Unfortunately, python2.7-dbg crashes when debian/rules clean runs the line:
python2.7-dbg ./setup.py clean --all This prevents me from creating the source package. The command is still run using the non-debug version of python2.7, so hopefully this isn't an issue. I have commented out the python2.7-dbg line from debian/rules.
