One more thing: I tried the "Post 18" fix, but I am not sure if I actually tried it with Skype. I tried it with Google Talk, and there seemed to be some audio coming through to the other side. It was very low volume and noisy, though, so barely usable. There were also feedback loops, not sure if that is a problem of the Acer hardeware or a software problem.
This bug is actually a deal breaker for me, as I specifically bought the notebook for mum so that she could do video chat with her grandchildren. I blame Skype rather than Ubuntu, but still, it is a shame. I also look stupid in front of my friends, who kept telling me I should just leave Windows 7 on the system. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/437192 Title: No microphone in skype -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
