Installed Natty 32-bit Alpha 2, ran all the updates which included the
ALSA update and the problem is still present.

I've been looking into this more... not exactly sure how all this works
so bare with me, but I noticed on Fedora if I go into ALSA mixer there
is three cards to choose from, Default is Pulseaudio then 0 and 1 are
HDA ATI HDMI and Logitech USB Headset.

On Ubuntu Default is HDA ATI HDMI, 0 is HDA ATI HDMI and 1 is Logitech
USB Headset, I don't think the order is really that important because I
can and have changed Headset to 0 and it made no difference but
Pulseaudio is missing, is Pulseaudio not being listed in ALSA mixer
normal for Ubuntu?

In Fedora adjusting the volume via the volume applet moves the volume
bar under Pulseaudio in ALSA mixer, in Ubuntu I'm assuming it's doing
the same thing you just can't see it because Pulse isn't listed in ALSA
mixer, I think it might be helpful to see where the volume is at for
Pulse right after log in and right after adjusting the volume slightly.
Any ideas on how to get Pulse to show up in the ALSA mixer? Or input on
if it would help at all?
