since its the development version of empathy there seems to be not a
usable stacktrace attached to this bug report. If you are able to
reproduce this issue could you please try to get a backtrace by
following the procedure here:
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and attach it to this bug
report.
