This bug report shows that you have installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, which
installs grub2 by default, but that you have removed this in favor of
grub1 without configuring it. You either need to configure your
bootloader for use, or reinstall grub2 by running this command from a
terminal:
sudo apt-get install grub-pc
