Apart from okular, no free software chm reader has ability to annotate[
highlight, comment etc.] .chm files. I should know, I tried them all.

So either I:
1. compile okular with said backend on my own
2. Use a windows application 'Ultrachm' which works under wine

The excellent guys at chmsee have decided to add annotation support
http://code.google.com/p/chmsee/issues/detail?id=116

So hopefully this would be a non-issue in the future.

Thanks
