I've noticed that this border space also causes a minor usability
problem in that the clickable area for the navigation buttons does not
include the additional border space inside the button. The result is
that I sometimes find myself having to click a second time because my
first click, although visually inside the button area, is not far enough
inside to actually activate the button.
