Hello all, I think this package should be synced because:
- It brings, together with new pcsc-lite (see LP: #723016) support for a lot of new stuff and recent hardware, including some currently involved in mass testing (test programs of electronic purses, for example in Bordeaux) and being not able to use them into Ubuntu leads users to use Win. - Our version is currently quite old (69 weeks ago, was the same in Lucid except a CVE fix in natty, released on 28 Jul 2009 in Debian) missing some bug fixing which was done in recent versions, and not in sync with current upstream's state of the art. It requires and is required by new pcsc-lite too (I made a branch for it), which now doesn't run as root anymore, which is better for security, and doesn't run when not needed on startup. It's very old too. It builds fine under Natty with the pcsc-lite version I propose: https://edge.launchpad.net/~kalon33/+archive/rfid/+buildjob/2304273 Testing was done with USB PC/SC readers (Omnikey 5321 USB, Weneo SIM usb) and everything is fine. ** Patch added: "ChangeLog diff between Ubuntu and Upstream" https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ccid/+bug/723013/+attachment/1890123/+files/ccid_ChangeLog_diff.diff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/723013 Title: [FFe] Please sync new upstream release 1.4.2-2 from Debian Unstable -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
