Bug reports and patches are always welcome directly in Debian's bugtracker, even if you use Ubuntu, as long as you try to avoid reporting bugs that are Ubuntu-specific. I try to track my Debian packages on Launchpad; I just wish there were a way to auto-subscribe to all packages I'm the maintainer of.
