Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: grub-pc

I've created a gfxmenu theme. When I add GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=keep to
/etc/default/grub the boot process hangs somewhere between plymouth and
gdm. I have a seperate /boot partition formatted as ext4 with / on a
RAID0 partition.

If I remove the 'quiet splash' from the Linux command-line the boot
process goes on properly to gdm. This happens at even 640x480. I've
commenting out the lines that set GFXPAYLOAD from 10_linux and adding it
immediately after the set gfxmode= line in 00_header but it still does
the same thing.
