by the way, there is a very consistent way: make as if the other workspaces simply weren't there. that's the way i would suppose it to be. no icons and no running indicators for windows on other workspaces. remember: using several workspaces is useful to avoid distraction from things going on on other workspaces. (what else should several workspaces be good for if one sees all the stuff from other workspaces anyway?)
