I experienced the same thing quite often so I am trying to give an
example.

A facebook link to an event without additional description (as shown in
the top my attached image) is displayed by gwibber in an empty
notification bubble (as seen in the bottom of the image). It shows only
the facebook id with the user thumbnail and a lot of space. I think this
does not only occur on posted events but on all types of links when
there is no additional text. There should be at least some hint saying
what this notification is about or no notification at all.

I am using Gwibber 2.32.2 on Ubuntu 10.10.
