Here is a debdiff for the package. As for the freeze exception, most of the rationale is already mentioned here. But to recap:
Xen packaging in Ubuntu is outdated and originates from a source outside of Debian. This patch will allow the usage of Debian xen package in Ubuntu. This package requires pulling xen-common package from Debian as well as rebuilding libvirt with libxen-dev as the dependency. Current Xen packaging is horribly outdated and will hurt Ubuntu's image if a release is made with it. ** Patch added: "Debdiff between Debian package 4.0.1-2 and Ubuntu package 4.0.1-2ubuntu1" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xen/+bug/378240/+attachment/1894825/+files/deb.diff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/378240 Title: Please merge xen 4.0.1-2 (main) from Debian unstable (main) -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
