Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: update-manager
After upgrading to Feisty, I tried hibernation on my Dell Inspiron 640m.
(On Dapper, sound and network weren't functioning properly after
resuming, and in Edgy it just never completed the hibernation procedure)
Hibernating went fine, but when I resumed, it just booted in the normal
start-up sequence.
It turns out that for hibernation resuming to work, initramfs-tools
needs some configuration in /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume.
Specifically, it needs to have the path to the swap device in.
That file simply contain RESUME=
It would be nice if the package or update-manager made sure that this
was configured properly in upgrade.
(I went from Dapper install, to Edgy (using aptitude), to Feisty using
dist-upgrade.py)
** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided

initramfs-tools RESUME= should be set when upgrading
