I have this same model of laptop (I also noted that the internal subwoofer did not shut off with a headphone plugged in). The issue did not exist in 10.04 (amd64), but does in 10.10 (amd64) even at the latest revision as of this writing. I did figure out a work-around for my particular scenario.
Append this line to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf: options snd-hda-intel model=asus-mode7 This makes the speakers, subwoofer, and audio jack act as you'd expect in all the scenarios mentioned. I'll test the latest natty build when I get a chance. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/674503 Title: Laptop doesn't mute itself when I push button to do it -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
