@Geoff, Even with Unity, Ubuntu will still have the Messaging Menu and I don't want Evolution cluttering the launcher all the time, just like I don't want it cluttering my Docky right now in Maverick. So I can assure you that I'll still use your patch in Natty, regardless of it being officially accepted or not.
As a side note, how difficult it was making your patch play nicely with the clock applet?
