Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-i810-modesetting
I have a Sony Vaio TX2 with Intel Corporation Mobile 915GM chipset and Ubuntu
Feisty Fawn installed.
I am using i810 modesetting because the standard i810 driver wasn't able to
display the resolution 1680x1050 of my external monitor even with
915resolution. With modesetting it works out of the box except of the
MonitorLayout CRT option.
But the problem is that with i810 modesetting my LFP with a native resolution
of 1366x768 stops working (standard i810 had no problem with my LFP). X
recognizes the correct resolution of the LFP but seems to have no mode for it.
It crashes/stops if no external monitor is connected. The only possibilty to
use the LFP is to replace the resolution 1366x768 with 1024x768 which looks not
so good of course.
