Yes it happens every time. Also happens under firefox and chrome's F11-fullscreen then ^W (to close the app) and then I'm sitting at a desktop with no interface. For me this is specifically with the Ubuntu Netbook Edition session, which I installed on top of a standard amd64 desktop install.
