Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdesktop
When you get a NFS mount-point mounted in /media/network (i.e.) (the mount-point is in /etc/fstab to get automatically mounted) and when the user turns off his computer without telling you about that (he shouldn't anyway) without you manually unmount the mountpoint, KDesktop freezes and if it doesn't the media:/ lists nothing. To reproduce the bug, mount a nfs share located somewhere on the LAN, say 192.168.0.12:/home/user/ $ mount 192.168.0.12:/home/user/ /media/network $ Write a line for that share in /etc/fstab: 192.168.0.12:/home/user /media/network nfs auto, user,rw 0 0 Now, go to media:/ and checkout the content of the sharepoint. Then turn off the computer that's been mounted, or ask the owner to restart it/shut it down. Go to Konqueror -> media:/ or try to access the mountpoint via the Icon that automatically appears on the Desktop. Kaboom! KDesktop freezes or media:/ lists nothing. Tried to search for report of this bug, couldn't find. ** Affects: kdebase (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- KDesktop freezes when NFS-mount-point computer gets disconnected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/106361 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Team, which is a bug contact for kdebase in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
