@Eliah Thanks for the suggestions, I do appreciate it :) I went looking for the Alpha2 CD's but couldn't find them - I assume I just wasn't checking the right places. As for the Alternate CD, it was next on my list to try. That said, I've managed to resurrect my current install - it was my user that was corrupted so I used the classic desktop to make a new user and then went from there.
