Public bug reported: I use Ubuntu Dapper on a PowerPC. I want to play with notify-send, but it didn't work:
I tried this: notify-send "foo bar" But nothing happens and notify-send even don't quit. But every free CPU time is used by notify-send (80% and more). -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers dapper-updates APT policy: (990, 'dapper-updates'), (990, 'dapper-security'), (990, 'dapper-proposed'), (990, 'dapper-backports'), (990, 'dapper') Architecture: powerpc (ppc) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15-26-powerpc Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages libnotify-bin depends on: ii libc6 2.3.6-0ubuntu20 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libglib2.0-0 2.10.3-0ubuntu1 The GLib library of C routines ii libpopt0 1.7-5 lib for parsing cmdline parameters libnotify-bin recommends no packages. -- no debconf information ** Affects: libnotify (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- notify-send didn't work and eats all CPU-time https://launchpad.net/bugs/56285 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
