Public bug reported: Binary package hint: debconf
Upgrading linux-image while removing existing one will result in stupid/confusing dialog box (attached a file) Lets go over it one by one: - I upgrade the kernel, new kernel is already downloaded and waiting on the disk for the install - there are 3 buttons to chose from "cancel", "back", "forward", and one check box "do you want to remove", WTF? is user supposed to be psychic? I am a developer/coder/IT support guy and it took me 3 tries to figure out what its all about and how to just say "YES, remove god dammit" - help makes it even more confusing, it tells you about "Yes" and "No" options, there are no such options, it tells you about boot loader configuration while its automagic when installing new kernel, it doesn't know we already downloaded new kernel and will install it in a second - all this could be solved by simply reordering the actions, install new kernel first, then remove the old one. ** Affects: debconf (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- removing linux-image = stupid confusing question https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/106505 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
