Mine had the problem given above. Was using ubuntu with gnome and had no 
problems. When I tried KDE version of Sabayon - I couldn't connect.

I fixed the problem by enabling kde wallet manager. Seems like the
password wasn't being cached locally without the use of a wallet. No
idea why it happened, But now I could connect without using ndiswrapper.
