It appears to be to do with the difference between Ambiance and
Radiance.   The dividing line is actually two columns of pixels,
creating a "chisel effect" line by using dark on the left, light on the
right.  Everything is relative and so it is the the dark line that you
see in one theme, and the light line on the other.

One of these appears to align and the other doesn't, despite them being
in the same place.  I suppose that one could be nudged by one pixel, but
perhaps there is a better solution?
