Today's updates seem to have fixed the problem. My initial boot this morning still had the error but after applying the updates, and rebooting to the new 2.6.20-15 kernel, the crash has disappeared.
Thanks for making (K/X)ubuntu such a great distro. I have swayed many of my friends and associates to at least give it a try. So far they have been mostly happy with just a few things that they do not having an equivalent application (at least that they have found). Upon Fiesty's final release I plan on installing Xubuntu on my mother's computer. She is completely clueless when it comes to computers and I know that everything that she does on the computer can be done transparently under Linux. I chose Xubuntu because she has a 500 MHz Pentium III with 256 MB of memory (maximum memory that the motherboard/bios allows). If anyone believes that Ubuntu with Gnome would work fine on this machine then let me know. I would rather use Gnome as it appears to have a simpler interface for someone like my ageing mother. -- [apport] displayconfig-restore.py crashed with ImportError in <module>() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/106368 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Team, which is a bug contact for kde-guidance in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
