i rebooted computer (for good measure), with disk in drive. started the SPM and checked the repo settings, Ubuntu Software tab, and the CDROM is checked (CD-ROM with Ubuntu 10.04 'Lucid Lynx') then click close. along the left at the bottom, click Origin. above it shows all the sources and CDROM IS NOT THERE.
