After editing the patch (from comment #129) to reflect the correct
directory, it wouldn't apply cleanly. It also then wouldn't build with
dpkg-buildpackage; one of the other patches that gets applied during
that process subsequently failed.

I ran into these problems during my attempt to adapt the OpenSUSE
patches (against xf86-input-synaptics-1.3.0) to the version in Natty.
Just adding support for the clickpad is one thing. There are a number of
patches from OpenSUSE that provide better support for click-and-drag,
and detect and enable led tapping to enable/disable the clickpad. After
many hours adapting the the patches, I was finally able to get the
package to build, but it didn't seem to make any difference. I'll keep
trying in my spare time, but it would be helpful if someone more
knowledgeable than I with regards to X input drivers take a whack at it.
