There is already a package with AFS support in version 0.16-4 at http://packages.debian.org/stable/utils/krb5-auth-dialog Why not include this package in the Ubuntu repository instead of the 0.15 version? (Perhaps that upgrade will also fix https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/krb5-auth-dialog/+bug/478975 )
