Very odd. it seems to be dying in register_application_window_cb(),
which appears to be part of Ayatana's appmenu-gtk code. I don't know
what that's got to do with NTFS vs. ext3/ext4, or if the filesystem is a
red herring.

I'm not sure how that's happening. Perhaps I should get one of the
Ayatana devs to take a look and see what they think about this crash.
